Great place, hamburgers were thick, cooked to perfection, flavourful and juicy. The spinach flatbread was excellent, it had alot of flavor and lots of cheese. Had the onion rings as an appetizer and they were also good, not the three inch thick ones you usually get when you order onion rings.
Nice pub, busy but also cozy and the staff are friendly. Plenty of screens for the big games as well. They have special event nights like trivia and bingo so check ahead if you're interested or if you'd rather avoid that sort of thing. Luckily they have a section that is away from these busier louder events too.
The foods I was pretty good here only reason I give it four stars on service and atmosphere when it comes to Atmosphere you know it's a sports bar pizza sports bar more or less I guess I could give it five stars but when it comes to the atmosphere in the service both are pretty good I guess when it comes down to it sometimes the tables aren't wiped off the cleanest the servers need to do a little better job with that but frankly that's a problem all over managers need to learn how to wipe a table off proper and then they need to teach their staff how to wipe a table off proper that's not just a problem at this place. Then I probably always hit them with five stars.
Unfortunately, I can't rate any higher than 5 stars on Google otherwise I would! I've been going to Buddies my entire life. The food here is amazing and always consistently good. They adjust with the times, yet remain a classic. They're a staple in the community. Their Nachos Supreme is the best I've ever had. The rest of their food is super high quality and amazing too and presentation is 10/10 If I could afford to eat out every day, Buddies would be a go-to multiple times a week! Expect a minimum of $10-12 per person, but it's well worth it!
The food was good and the staff was great. I have a food allergy and they came out to check to make sure they knew how to accommodate that. Very welcoming.
We inevitably get to Buddies every visit to Okemos because it’s my Dad’s favorite place. It’s actually difficult to get a bad meal here. I’ve tried multiple dishes and loved every one of them. They have a good selection of beer, including craft brews. You can get Italian, Mexican, Salads, and American fare. The portions are unbelievably huge. Enough for at least 2 meals if you’re not a big eater. Prices are reasonable and they hey take all credit cards. Awesome place.
I highly recommend this if you are going to a Msu bball game and want something to eat before it. We tried to go to chilis before the Illinois game, there was a wait time. Decided to leave, went here to try another option for dinner. Came here to buddies. Got seated immediately, service was fast, and food was extremely good. We’d still be at chilis waiting by now if we stayed there 😅 5 stars :)
Incredible service, Michael is legitimately one of the best bartenders I've ever seen in action. He knows what he's doing and it doesn't matter how busy he is, you can tell he is really listening to you and your order while managing a million other things. Unfortunately we came in at the tail end of trivia but I'm guessing it's a regular Tuesday thing and it sounded really great.
Have tried a wide variety of items here and enjoyed them all. Today: the Chuckwagon Burger. A couple different areas to sit, and plenty of TVs.
Discovered Buddies Grill when looking for a sports bar that was playing NBA Finals. Few bars I went to before weren’t playing the game but luckily Buddies had on (with volume) soon as I walked in. Michael the bartender is excellent at his job. Very personable and can tell is well liked from regular customers. Buddies Burger combo was also delicious! Cold beer went down nicely watching the game. Decided to come back next night as Michael said he’d have the NHL Finals on as well. Easy choice to return. Pricing I think is fair (compared to Ontario bar pricing anyways). Thanks for filling my NBA/NHL Finals needs on trip down for NASCAR! -Miller Light Mike from Soo Ontario
